I have had a life long interest in sewing and making things. It was not until I was widowed in the early 90's that I eventually bit the bullet and started my City & Guilds at Warrington Collegiate Institute. This had a considerably liberating effect and filled me with renewed enthusiasm for the craft. After moving to Shropshire, and meeting Phil, my partner, I then went on to do further courses including my C&G part 2 at Westhope College, and a Foundation Course at Hereford College of Art and Design, followed by an HND in Design/Crafts.
My newest idea is to do craft weekends in our 19th century, oak beamed cottage, where I do B&B. We are situated in the beautiful countryside of the Shropshire/Herefordshire border, but within a stone's throw of the A49, so it is not far off the beaten track. The B&B is done on a small scale - the maximum I can accommodate is four people. The craft weekends could be combined with tours of Ludlow - or site seeing for one partner and craft for the other - in other words a great deal of flexibility can be built into the system.
Textile Landscapes
The aim is to produce your own textile landscape piece. All abilities are welcome including beginners. Please bring photos, sketches or any inspiration you might have - otherwise I have loads of material that you may delve into freely.
